Professionnel Creme Oxydant | Peroxide
Shop L'Oréal Creme Oxydant professional hair developer at Beauty Hair UK. The developer is not an afterthought — it is what controls lift, deposit and how consistently a shade performs on the head. L'Oréal Professionnel's Creme Oxydant is formulated specifically for the L'Oréal colour family, and this collection exists to make it easy to buy the right one.
Which L'Oréal developer do you need?
L'Oréal Professionnel uses dedicated oxidants for different colour systems. Creme Oxydant is the standard developer for permanent and demi-permanent colours like Majirel. The Dia Activateur is designed for the demi-permanent Dia ranges — Dia Light, Dia Richesse and Dia Color. The INOA Oxydant is specific to the ammonia-free INOA system. Using the right developer matters: a Creme Oxydant does not behave the same way as a Dia Activateur, and mixing incorrectly affects deposit and tone.
Understanding developer strength
Developer strength is measured in volumes, which refers to the concentration of hydrogen peroxide. The higher the volume, the more lift and the shorter the processing window you have. A general guide for L'Oréal Professionnel colour:
- 10 vol (3%) — Deposit-only colour and grey blending with minimal lift. Good for refreshing tone without moving depth.
- 20 vol (6%) — Standard permanent colour application and 1–2 levels of lift. The most commonly used strength for Majirel.
- 30 vol (9%) — 2–3 levels of lift. Used when a stronger result is needed with permanent colour on resistant hair.
- 40 vol (12%) — Maximum lift in the L'Oréal range. Reserved for specific Majirel High Lift applications or significant depth changes.
Match the oxydant to your colour service
If you are working with L'Oréal Majirel, the Creme Oxydant is your developer. For glossing, toning and demi-permanent services using Dia Light, Dia Richesse or Dia Color, use the dedicated Dia Activateur — at a lower dilution (1:2 activator to colour) rather than the 1:1.5 ratio typical of Creme Oxydant. For INOA, use only the INOA Oxydant, which is oil-based and does not perform the same way as a conventional cream developer.
Common questions
Can I use Creme Oxydant with Dia Light or Dia Richesse? Not ideally. Dia Light and Dia Richesse are low-pH, demi-permanent formulas designed to work at low peroxide with the Dia Activateur. Substituting Creme Oxydant changes the chemistry of the service and typically produces a coarser, harsher result. Use the correct activator for the correct system.
Is L'Oréal Creme Oxydant the same as standard salon peroxide? Not exactly. Creme Oxydant is a stabilised, viscous formula engineered to mix cleanly with L'Oréal colour. Generic or lower-grade peroxides may work in an emergency but are not formulated to the same consistency or stability, and can affect the colour result.
What developer for Majirel High Lift? Majirel High Lift shades require 40 vol (12%) Creme Oxydant and a 1:2 mixing ratio (colour to developer). This is a specialist application and should only be used on pre-lightened or naturally very pale hair.
